THOMAS D. (TOM) ALLAIRE

Thomas D. (Tom) Allaire, age 69, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN, following complications of a brain aneurysm.

He was born on September 28, 1946, in Winona, to Joseph and Helen (Rudnick) Allaire, and attended Cotter High School and the Winona High School.  Tom was the beloved husband of 47 years to Terry Skroch.  He was employed for over 41 years with Fiberite/Cytec in Winona, retiring in September 2008.

Tom will be remembered for his love of playing golf, and watching any sport on TV – his favorites were baseball and golf.  He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan, and he and his brother Jim made many calls back and forth as they would “coach” during the Packers games.  Tom’s greatest joy in life was his family, and he adored his three granddaughters, who were the apple of his eye.

Tom is lovingly survived by his wife, Terry, Winona; daughter, Mary (Mike) Zarn, Eden Prairie, MN; son: John (Jessica) Allaire, Plymouth, MN; granddaughters: Tori and Camryn Zarn, and Emma Allaire; brother: James (Barbara) Allaire, Newtonville, MA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Tom will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 4 PM until 7 PM, and at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 10:30 AM until 11:15 AM.

Pallbearers will be: William Allaire, Travis Volkman, Dennis Ebertowski, Jerry Engler, Bob Urness, and Joe Skroch

Memorials may be directed to a charity of choice.
