Susan "Susie" Thilmany

Susan M. “Susie” Thilmany, age 69, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 10, 1950, in Winona, to George P. and Felicia (Mlynczak) Thilmany, and was a graduate of Cotter High School.

Susie worked as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company beginning on August 16, 1968, and retired from Qwest on August 23, 1998.  She enjoyed bowling for many years, and getting together with her card club.  Susie was a lifetime member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, and enjoyed volunteering for many years for the St. Stanislaus Fall Festival.

Susie is lovingly survived by her siblings: Thomas (Ginny) Thilmany, Paulette Klinger, Mary Jo (Val) Stiever, Richard (Grace) Thilmany, Laurie (Jeff) Sennes, and Kim (Jeff) Hock; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she adored; along with her friends: Kathy Serva, Judy Wolfe, Sharon Repinski, and Clara Huhak.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law: James Klinger; and nephew: Derek Hock.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  The Very Reverend Patrick Arens will officiate.  Susie will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials would be appreciated to the St. Stanislaus Fall Festival.

Susie’s family would like to thank the staffs of St. Anne Extended Healthcare and Hospice, for taking such good care of our sister for the short time she needed their services.
