Steven B. Dzwonkowski, Sr.

“Steven Byrl Dzwonkowski, Sr., age 74, of Winona, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, with family by his side.

Steven was born in Winona, MN, on September 18, 1949, to Edward and Helen Dzwonkowski.  On February 5, 1980, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Stephans; she preceded him in death on November 25, 1987.

Steven served in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.  He was a true hero coming from a military family.  

He enjoyed spending time with friends and most of all family.  He also loved spending time on the Mississippi, river fishing, camping, hiking in nature centers, fixing things and gardening.  

Steven is survived by his children: Steven and Jonathan Dzwonkowski, Winona, MN; Melody (Paul) Hermann, Tamy Stephans, David Stephans and Daniel Stephans; grandchild, Thomas Hermann; brothers and sisters: Francis (Jean) Dzwonkowski, Winona, MN, Yvonne Poulin, Waseca, MN, and Carolyn (Gene) Prenot, Winona, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, and granddaughter, Jesslynn Hermann.

Steven will be laid to rest with military honors at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.  Please meet in Assembly Area 2 by 12:45 PM.
