STANLEY V. (STAN) POZANC
Stanley V. (Stan) Pozanc, age 79, of Rollingstone, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at his home.
Stan was born on October 27, 1936, in Winona, to Edmund and Gertrude (Pulchinski) Pozanc. He was united in marriage with Leona Wieczorek on February 16, 1957, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma, WI.
He farmed for many years in Rollingstone, and after moving to town, he worked as a tool and die maker at Winona Van Norman until his retirement. Stan was a member of the Minnesota City Boat Harbor, and served on its board of directors.
Stan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cracking walnuts, and spending time tinkering in his shed out back. He will be remembered for his favorite TV programs which included boxing, Gunsmoke, the Rifleman, any Western movie, and he especially looked forward to Vanna every night on Wheel of Fortune. Stan’s wise cracks and his great sense of humor and fun will be missed by all those who knew him.
Stan is lovingly survived by his wife, Leona; children: Ted Pozanc; Troy (Michelle) Pozanc; and Tami (Art) Johns; daughter-in-law: Carol Pozanc; grandchildren: Chris (Shana) Pozanc; Gretchen (Jake) Tesch; Travis Pozanc; Trevor (Jessica) Pozanc; Shyrl (Scott) Pozanc; and Skyler Pozanc; great-granchildren: Shawn, Keigen, Addison, Brandon, Ashley, Mason, Parker, and Harper; brother: Dan (Carol) Pozanc; sister: Mary Ann (Marvin) Larsen; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Wnuk and Ginger (Roger) Glende; brother-in-law: Jerry Wieczorek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Tim and Terry Pozanc; parents; a brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Toni Pozanc; and a brother-in-law: Larry Wieczorek.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. The Reverend William Kulas will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 4 PM until the time of the service.
A private family burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Rollingstone.
Pallbearers will be Stan’s grandchildren.
