Sheri Lee "Mayme" Meyer

Sheri Lee “Mayme” Meyer, age 62, of Wilson, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

She was born on February 10, 1962, in La Crosse, WI, to Jim and Kay (Haugstad) Lundgren, and was united in marriage with Eugene Meyer on December 29, 1984, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson.

Sheri was employed for many years with Economy Cab Company in Winona as a dispatcher and driver, a job she really loved.  She was also a passionate advocate for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Winona, and she was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson.

She will be remembered for her love of boating on the Mississippi River, playing BINGO, trips to the casino, and going to Steppin’ Out in Pink events. Sheri looked forward to her Wednesday shopping trips, searching for her next treasure at thrift stores and garage sales, and she enjoyed watching football and was a fan of the Vikings, Packers, and Patrick Mahomes.  

Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she especially cherished the time that she spent with her children, grandchildren, and siblings.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

Sheri is lovingly survived by her husband, Eugene; children: Adam (Leslie), Jorgina, Joe (Robyn), Andrew (Jen), Nicki (Brandon), Mikey (Samantha), and Jesse (Katie); grandchildren: Shelby, Natalie, Thomas, Christina, Lowen, Jeremy, Reagan, Daymon, Quinton, Lily, Jasmine, Ryann, Owen, Ben, Holden, Hunter, James, Andi, Hank, Jentrie, Jemma, Jonathan, and Vivian; siblings: Michael (Angie), Lori (Jeff), Heather (Joe), and Mary (Keith); sisters-in-law: Ardell and CarolLynn (Lyle), brother in law: Gary Oehler;  her beloved puppies, Rocco and Jethro, who meant the world to her; too many kitties to name; Godchildren: DJ, Lindsey, and Jenna; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and  great-nephews; special friends: Bob, Judy, and Gina; and many special and beloved relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob; parents Jim and Kay; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Henry and Alice Meyer; sister, Teresa; sister-in-law: Dawndra; brothers-in-law: David and William; special aunt Mary; a nephew Dylan and dear friend, Susie.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson, MN, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4 PM until 7 PM, and again at the church on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM.   Pastor Jason Threlkeld will officiate.   Sheri will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. There will be a lunch served in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Pallbearers will be Sheri’s grandchildren.

The family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson, Winona NAMI, Winona Recovery Center or to a charity of choice.

Sheri’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Gundersen Health System Oncology/Radiation Department, 6^th Floor Nurses, CNAs and RT department, Palliative Care, and Hospice Care, for the excellent and loving care that she received.
