Sarah Dinah O’Grady, age 51, died of cancer on January 5, 2019, in Winona at the home she shared with her husband, Greg Wignes.

Sarah was born in Winona on October 15, 1967, the child of Marvin andGenevieve Jilk O’Grady. The fourth of six children, her childhood years were spent on the farm in Minnesota City. She was a prolific life participant in a life beset by health challenges. She was accomplished in the Arts; especially stained glass. Her artistry included work in Winona, Acworth, GA and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Music, animals, gardening and the great outdoors were lasting life interests. She was a passionate naturalist. She was an avid learner in a multitude of disciplines. She made the world more beautiful.

She is survived by her parents, her husband, her children from her marriage to Peter Quinn, Katy (Brian) Wishnow, and Sean Quinn and grandchildren Quinn and Cullen Wishnow, her siblings, Bernadette (Tom) DiMauro, Rebecca (Brent) Weiss, James, Joseph, Kate (Scott Jensen) and mother-in-law, Beverly Wignes, sister-in-law, Lynette (Tad) Dunsworth, and Vincent Wolfe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews for whom she was “the best Auntie,” including Olivia and Isabella DiMauro, Michael and Elisabeth Weiss, Seamus Novak O’Grady, Ryan Jensen, James and Samuel O’Grady, and Maleesa, Dyllon and Talori Dunsworth, along with with many Jilk-O’Grady aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Mack Wishnow, her godparents, Ceil and Phil Streng and her father-in-law Lyle Wignes.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Sarah’s life at Alverna Hall, 1175 Wabasha Street, Winona on Sunday, January 13, 2019,  from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a program of focused reflection and memory sharing at 3:00 pm. To honor her memory, a bench will be placed at Lake Winona.
