Roserita "Rosie" Wolf

Roserita A. “Rosie” Wolf, age 86, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on March 2, 1933, in Phoenix, AZ, to Paul and Maggie (Rope) Anderson. She was a graduate of Fort Thomas High School in Fort Thomas, AZ, and attended Eastern Arizona Junior College. Rosie met Robert Wolf while he was a missionary in Bylas, AZ, and they were married on July 29, 1956, at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, MN.

Rosie was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, and also of Circle P of the Women’s Guild. She volunteered many hours and served in many capacities at St. Martin’s School while Robert was the principal.

She was employed at the Trading Post and Café in Bylas, she did daycare and babysitting for many years, and she worked in the housekeeping department of Sauer Health Care in Winona for over 25 years, from which she retired.

Rosie will be remembered for her enjoyment of baking, cake decorating, and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress who was also talented at handicrafts including embroidery, crocheting, knitting, painting, and furniture refinishing. Rosie also had many collections including recipes, cookbooks, hummingbirds, cardinals, strawberries, and anything blue.

Rosie is lovingly survived by her loving husband, Robert, Winona; daughter, Marita (Craig Thompson) Wolf, Winona; siblings: Merceline Anderson, Leon Anderson Sr., Paul Anderson Jr., Terry Anderson Sr., and Beatrice Lucero, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Edward Sr., Floyd Sr., Fred Sr., Ned Sr., Matthew Sr., and Jimmy Anderson.

A service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, with the Reverend William Flesch officiating. Visitation will follow the service until 5 PM.  Rosie will be laid to rest in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, in Northrop, MN.
