Ronald Zeise

Ronald Carl Zeise, age 73, of Denton, TX, and formerly of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Denton.

He was born on March 11, 1948, in Winona, to Carl and Marion (Kinzie) Zeise.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church where he served as an altar boy, attended St. Stanislaus Grade School, and he was a 1966 graduate of Cotter High School where he was active in sports.

Ron was always hard working.  He had a paper route as a young boy, started pumping gas at his uncle Sam’s gas station at the age of 13, and in his twenties, Ron began a lifetime career at Peerless Chain Company in Winona.

When he wasn’t working, Ron could be found at the YMCA practicing racquetball, where he challenged and reigned as champion in Minnesota.  An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Ron boldly declared himself a Packer owner, proudly displaying his certificate.

On June 26, 1983, Ron married Mary Tenseth of Winona, and after retiring, they moved to Denton, TX, to be closer to Mary’s family.  After Mary’s passing, Ron met Sherry Russell, and they were married on September 18, 2009.  Ron and Sherry lived in the community of Robson Ranch, where Ron was a regular in the coffee room, and also at New Life Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sherry; sister: Judy Simon; nieces: Michelle (Steve) Sitta, and Melissa Simon; great-nephew: Brayden; great-niece: Kailyn; cousin, Rick Hauser and his family; his Boston Terrier, Freckles; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral service at 1 PM on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 East Sarnia Street, Winona.  The Reverend William Kulas will officiate.  Ron will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
