Ronald E. Warnken, age 80, of 27453 Wild Rose Road, Rushford, MN, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Sauer Health Care in Winona.
Ron was born on July 6, 1937, on the family farm in Warren Township, to Edward W. A. and Edna (Brand) Warnken. He attended grade school at Considine District #5, and was a 1955 graduate of Rushford High School. Ron served his country with the Army National Guard from 1962-1966.
Ron was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilson, where he was a life-long member. He farmed for many years in the Wyattville area on the Warnken Century Farm, and he also delivered eggs and was known as the “egg man.”
Ron began dialysis treatment in 2001, and was blessed with a kidney transplant in 2007.
Ron is survived by his sisters: Ruth Dorman, Plainview, MN; and Judith Warnken, Wyattville; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 6 cousins, as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Violet Warnken.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until the funeral service at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilson. The Reverend Anthony Straseske will officiate. Ron will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilson, or to the Dialysis Unit at Winona Health.
