ROBERT J. MORDAN

Robert J. Mordan, age 77, of Ridgeway, MN, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at his home the way he would have wanted – outside on a beautiful day in the sunshine.

He was born on May 13, 1939, in Bloomsburg, PA, to Paul and Rachael (Kline) Mordan.  Bob earned his degree in Physiology and Zoology from Penn State, and was employed as a chemist for over 50 years with the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, accepting, and beautiful soul, who had a great love and respect for nature.  His greatest passion in life was his farm, where he and his best friend worked to improve the Appaloosa and Quarter Horse breeds.

Bob was a member of the Ridgeway United Methodist Church, and was currently serving as the Council President of the congregation.

Bob is lovingly survived by his daughter, Lisa Mordan, Oshkosh, WI, niece Stephanie (John) Rowland and their children Noah and Rachel.  Special friends: Seth Coyle, Ridgeway, who shares Bob’s love and passion for horses; and Maida Smith, his longtime friend that he faithfully picked up and took to church every Sunday.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Nancy Mitchell; and a nephew: John Mitchell.

Visitation will be held at the Ridgeway United Methodist Church on Friday, May 12, 2017, from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM.  The Reverend James Strom will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
