ROBERT A. EBERTOWSKI
Robert A. Ebertowski, 78 of Winona, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 30th. He valiantly fought Multiple Myeloma for five years, but became additionally challenged recently by Myelodysplastic Syndrome, which then turned into Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Bob was born on December 29, 1937 in Lancaster, WI, but spent most of his childhood in Winona, MN where he graduated from Cotter High School. He was an Army Veteran who served three years overseas in Germany. Robert received a Good Conduct Medal, an Expert Badge (Gunner 90mm), and was given an Honorable Discharge from the military. He attended and graduated from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Bob lived in Rochester, MN while raising his family, and worked as a printer at Custom Printing for 40 years.
Robert was a quiet individual who enjoyed history, movies, traveling, fishing, a good steak, spending time with family and friends, and watching just about any sporting event. His greatest passions were his grandchildren, and the Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his daughter Lonnie (Greg) of Minneapolis, MN, his daughter Gwen (Terry) of Los Angeles, CA, his son Randy (Andrea) of Burlington, WI, his four beloved grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Victoria and Cooper, and his sister Susan (Michael) of Winona, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Mildred (Norton), and brother Michael.
Friends may call at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home in Winona, MN on Saturday, September 17th, from 2 to 4 p.m. The family has chosen to honor Bob’s love of sports so for those attending, casual sports attire is preferred. And though Vikings apparel is discouraged it will be allowed. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Robert’s name to the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society”. The organization helps fight the rare and aggressive type of cancer that he lastly battled.
