RITA J. (HERMANN) WICKA

Rita J. (Hermann) Wicka, age 90, of Dodge, WI, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska, WI.

She was born on October 24, 1926, in Pine Creek, WI, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Hagenbart) Hermann.  Rita was united in marriage with Melvin Wicka on October 4, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI, and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2006.

Rita was employed in Arcadia, and for Winona Industries and WinCraft in Winona.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, and its Rosary Society.

Rita is survived by her children: Carol (Ed) Sagan, Onalaska, WI; Mary (Joe) Wolfe, Winona; grandchildren: Beth (Darren) Verhota, Onalaska; Billy Wolfe, Florida; Connan Wolfe, Winona; Chris Sagan, Boise, ID; Jeremy Sagan, Holmen, WI; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Dylan, and Ashley Verhota; and Lily and Owen Sagan; brothers: Donald (Lucille) Hermann, La Crescent, MN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Irene (late Gerald) Hermann, Winona; Celene (late Ben) Sobotta, St. Francis, WI; and Judy (late Eldon Hermann) (Doug) Fleming, Trempealeau, WI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph, Gerald, Lloyd (Ellie), and Eldon Hermann; sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleanor (late Omer and late Romauld) Kulas-Galewski, Isabelle (Dave) Buege, and Dorothy (Wayne) Colclasure; brothers-in-law: James (Mary Ann) Wicka and Clarence (Delores) Wicka; and sisters-in-law: Rose (Kermit) Fabian and Marie (Doc) Maier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI.  The Reverend Sebastian Kolodziejczyk will officiate.

Rita will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 4 PM until 7 PM, with the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will also be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Pallbearers will be: Billy and Connan Wolfe, Chris and Jeremy Sagan, and Tyler and Dylan Verhota. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Maier, Robert Hermann, and Daniel Wicka.

It is respectfully suggested that memorials be directed to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund.
