RICHARD A. OLDHAM

Richard A. Oldham, age 71, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, in the comfort of his home, following a three year battle with cancer.

Rich was born on March 29, 1945, in Warren Township, Winona County, MN, to Theodore and Alice (Krenzke) Oldham.  He was united in marriage with Judy Mueller on July 24, 1965, at Immanuel (Silo) Evangelical Lutheran Church, in rural Lewiston.  They were so thankful that they were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary last summer.

He was employed with WinCraft in Winona for 33 years prior to his retirement, and was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Rich will be remembered for his love of music – he began playing with his dad in the Country Four Band, and he then went on to play guitar and do vocals with the Buckaroos Band.  Rich and Judy loved traveling, and they especially enjoyed their numerous trips throughout the United States.

Rich is lovingly survived by his wife, Judy; children: Terry Oldham; Jolene Welch; and Tanya (Roger) Fegre; grandchildren: Tasha Welch, Tyler Fegre, and Kailey Fegre; brothers: Robert (Lorraine) Oldham; Arnold (Delores) Oldham; and Ralph (Kay) Oldham; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Oldham and Ethel Long; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his parents; sister: Margaret Hoefs; brother: Roger Oldham; and a nephew, Roger Hoefs.

Visitation will be held at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 1 PM   until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 PM.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.  Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall.

After the luncheon, Rich will be laid to rest in Immanuel (Silo) Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lewiston.

Pallbearers will be: Terry Oldham, Roger Fegre, Tyler Fegre, Duane Oldham, Dan Oldham, and Jim Hoefs.

Rich’s family would like thank Dr. Ferris; Dr. Broghammer; all the doctors and nurses in ICU and on the Second Floor of Winona Health; the nurses and staff at Lake Winona Manor; and especially Dr. Trombetta, who went above and beyond and out of his way to help Rich.  We sincerely appreciate the loving care and support that all of you gave to Rich throughout his illness.
