Nancy Coshenet

NANCY H. (KOWALEWSKI) COSHENET

Nancy H. (Kowalewski) Coshenet, age 72, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Lake Winona Manor surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 27, 1943, in Winona, to Lambert and Helen (Schueler) Kowalewski.  She attended high school at the Villa Maria in Lake City, MN, and following graduation, Nancy went on to complete training as a beautician.  She was united in marriage with Joseph Coshenet on February 8, 1964, in Winona.

In her younger years, Nancy had a great love for horses, and enjoyed being a member of the Valley Riders.  Later in life, she became an avid golfer, and was a member of Westfield Golf Club and the Winona Country Club.

Nancy was dedicated to the family business, the Hot Fish Shop in Winona, where she served as the manager and later as the owner.  She was proud to have given many young people in the area a job and a start in their working careers.

Nancy’s greatest role in life was that of a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was not only a mother to her own family, but to many others, and her family is so very grateful to all those who were a part of her life.  She will be deeply missed.

Nancy is lovingly survived by her beloved Joe; children: Curt, Derek, Rick, and Cari; grandchildren: Nick, Tim, Jenna, Blaine, Jake, and Gabe; great-granddaughter: Paisley Rae; sister: Mary (Louis) Sterling; brother: Henry Kowalewski; a special aunt, Joyce Woodard, who was like a sister to Nancy; niece: Angela Sherack; nephew: Chris Zimmerman; her beloved dog, Maggie; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Monday, February 1, 2016, from 4 PM until the time of a funeral service at 6 PM. Deacon Justin Green will officiate.

Nancy will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in a family ceremony.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be considered in lieu of flowers.
