Muriel Frosch

MURIEL R. FROSCH

Muriel R. Frosch, age 94, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Winona Health.

Muriel was born on February 1, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN, to Peter and Minnie (Gunderson) Ruud.  She graduated from Augsburg College in 1943, with a degree in Teaching and Library, and went on to teach English for four years at the Houston, MN, High School.  Muriel was united in marriage with Gerald W. Frosch on June 18, 1948, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, and they were blessed with 69 years of marriage.

Muriel’s faith and her family were the foundations of her life.  She was a long-time member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served with the Ladies Aid, helped with Walther League, attended Ladies Bible Study, and she coordinated the Prayer Chain for many years. Her deep faith brought her comfort throughout her life, and she enjoyed sharing her favorite passages of Scripture with others.  Muriel was also active with the Sauer Healthcare Auxiliary, where she served as their Secretary for many years.

Muriel’s greatest joy in life was raising her family and being a homemaker.  She especially cherished the time that she spent with her children and grandchildren.  She will be remembered for her love of writing letters and sending cards to her family and friends.

Muriel is lovingly survived by her husband, Gerald; children: Dianne (Craig) Zeches, and Paul (Mary) Frosch; daughter-in-law: Susan (Dan) Frosch-Erickson; grandchildren: Tim (Nicole) Zeches; Brian (Katlyn) Zeches; Betsy (Brad) Walker; Michael (Megan) Zeches; Rebecca (Leonard) Jordan; Joel (Melissa) Zeches; Peter (Anne) Frosch; Andrew (Rachel) Frosch; Elizabeth (Andrew) Taylor; Samuel Frosch; and Amanda (Zachary) Wyman; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Daniel Frosch; as well as two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark in 1988; her parents; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Visitation will be held at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 12:30 PM until the funeral service at 2:30 PM.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Muriel will be laid to rest in the Money Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Muriel’s grandsons.

It is respectfully requested that memorials be directed to St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to Hope Lutheran High School.
