MARY JANE SULA
Mary Jane Sula, age 94, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
She was born on January 8, 1923, in Winona, to Alphonse and Selma (Skorlinski) Grochowski, Sr. She was united in marriage with Robert Sula on June 8, 1946, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1993.
Mary Jane was a lifelong member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, where she was active with the quilters.
She will be remembered for her love of quilting, doing crafts, cross stitch, puzzles, and swinging on her front porch swing.
Mary Jane was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Mary Jane is survived by her sons: Stephen (Jeanne) Sula, and Robert (Kathy) Sula; daughter: Sally (Paul) Wolfe; 8 grandchildren: Caroline, Chandra, Jennifer, Thomas, Bradley, John, Elizabeth, and Sara; 14 great-grandchildren: Savannah, Sierra, Asher, Brianna, Grace, Paolo, Mason, Rebecca, Kayla, Abby, T.J., Mason, Lila, with one on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild, Esme; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters: Fay Norton and Harriet Turner; and brothers: Alphonse Grochowski, Jr., and William Grochowski, Sr.
Visitation will be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Mary Jane will be laid to rest in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
