Mary Ellen Wolfe, age 68, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles, MN.
She was born on May 31, 1952, in Pine Creek, WI, to Melvin and Rita (Hermann) Wicka, and was a graduate of the Arcadia High School. She married Joseph Wolfe, and they later separated.
Mary was employed as a librarian at the St. Stanislaus School in Winona for over twenty years, and later worked as a daycare provider until 2012.
She will be remembered for her love of reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and she enjoyed spending time outdoors enjoying nature and the world around her. Mary was also an advocate for the deaf and hearing impaired and served as a sign language interpreter. Her favorite role in life was that of being a mom, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mary is lovingly survived by her sons: Billy Wolfe and Connan Wolfe; sister: Carol (Edward) Sagan; as well as several Godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI. Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Those attending will be required to wear a mask, and to follow social distancing guidelines.
A memorial is being arranged.
