Mary Prochowitz, age 95, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Madonna Meadows in Rochester, MN.
She was born on September 12, 1922, in Hollandville, MT, to Marianus and Minnie (DeLeest) Loeffen, and was united in marriage with Leo Prochowitz on June 12, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona. Leo preceded her in death on November 13, 1991.
Mary was employed for many years at Lake Center Industries in Winona until her retirement, and she was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
She will be remembered for her love of working jigsaw puzzles, and she enjoyed playing BINGO at Treasure Island, which she always called “going to work.”
Mary is lovingly survived by her children: Barbara (Bill) Neumann, Rochester, MN; Patricia (Thomas) Nordseth, Farmington, MN; Randall (Lynn) Prochowitz, St. Paul, MN; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister: Agnes Hemmelgarn, Perham, MN; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Steven; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Mary will be laid to rest in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
