Mary Braatz

Mary L. Braatz, age 76, of Pickwick, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at the Winona Health Hospital.

She was born on May 24, 1944, in Winona, to Arnold and Beth (Thompson) Stever, and was a graduate of Lewiston High School.  She was united in marriage with Gary Braatz on November 21, 1964, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2013.

Mary was employed with Winona Monument for 30 years, the food service at Winona Health, and also at Watkins Manor until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick, and the Pickwick Mill Association.  She will be remembered for her enjoyment of her cats, gardening, and doing yardwork.

Mary is survived by her children: Steve and Laurie Braatz; brother: Robert (Julie) Stever; sisters: Sue Haedtke and Nancy Stever; sisters-in-law: Shirley Kauphusman and Donna Fritz; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services will be held privately, with burial in the Pickwick Cemetery.
