Marlene C. Schwertel

Marlene C. Schwertel, age 75, of Trempealeau, WI, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

She was born on April 2, 1949, in Trempealeau, WI, to Joseph and Olivia (Schmidt) Schwertel, and was a graduate of the Trempealeau High School. Marlene married Robert Moga, and they later divorced.

Marlene had a deep devotion to her Catholic faith, and was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau.  

She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing softball, attending her children’s sporting events, and cheering for the Packers.  She loved farming, and she was a huge fan of Elvis and Ricky Nelson.

Marlene was a loving and devoted mom and homemaker, who always made every place the family lived feel safe and like home.  Her strong yet quiet demeanor was the rock for her family, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Marlene is lovingly survived by her children: Bill Moga, Diane Moga, Mickki (Aaron) Prussing, Dale Moga, and Lance Moga; her granddaughter, Phoenix; siblings: Virginia Anderson, JoAnn Moe, Beverly Kyle, and Janice Shoemaker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marcene Seehafer; and her long-time friend, Doreen Olson.

Visitation will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau, WI, on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Trempealeau.
