Marjorie Jane (Rose-Ramin) Perry, age 83, of Winona, passed away peacefully at home with her family, on Thursday, January 23, 2020.
She was born on November 28, 1936, in Winona, to Roy and Margaret (Braatz) Rose. She married Ronald Ramin, and they later divorced. She is survived by their three sons: Steven (Brenda), Chuck (Karen), and Scott (Lori); two daughters: Sandi (Dan) Lipinski, and Deb (John) Roth; her grandchildren: Jamie (Josh) Woodard, Jason Kulas; Jennifer, Rodney (Arica), Nathan (Callie), Eric (Rachel), Will (Rachael), Anneliese, Michael, Aften, and Maggie Ramin; Cayleen, and Kendra (Mark) Sujanani; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Rose; nephew, Louie (Kris) Gernes, and niece, Maggie Rose-Buchanan.
She is also survived by her husband, Ralph Perry, whom she married in 1983, in Holtville, CA, and has 2 step-daughters: Beth Perry, and Vicki (Mat) DePaul-Meister; and step-grandchildren: Marina DePaul, and Tom and Anne Welker. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Roland Gernes; nephew: David Gernes; and a step-granddaughter: Sierra DePaul.
Marjorie was employed for 15 years with the JC Penney Company. She was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Circle Mary of its Ladies Aid, and she also served with the funeral lunch committee. She belonged to a Red Hat Club, and lunch groups with her WSHS ’54 Chicks, and her Penney’s friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, games, making picture albums, and belonging to the Friendship Center and the Old Settlers.
While living in Las Vegas, she enjoyed the many visitors, and looked forward to her grandchildren’s visits. She loved family get-togethers.
Marji and Ralph enjoyed traveling to Europe, Russia, and Egypt, and they went on river cruises down the Danube, Rhine, and Nile Rivers, and also the Aegean Sea while in Greece.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM until the funeral service at 5:30 PM on Monday, January 27, 2020, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate. A family burial will be held in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery. Following the service, all are invited to a dinner and reception which will be held in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Martin’s, the American Heart Association, Polycystic Kidney Foundation, or to cancer research.
