MARIE L. JACQUES

Marie L. Jacques, age 88, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Gundersen Health System Hospital in La Crosse, WI.

She was born on April 28, 1928, in Rumford, ME, to Emile and Dina (Poirier) Cloutier, and was a graduate of the Mexico High School in Mexico, ME.  Marie married Francis Jacques on June 3, 1950, in Mexico, ME.

Marie and Francis owned and operated Jacques TV Service in Winona for many years, and Marie later worked as an administrative assistant at St. Mary’s University in Winona, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona, TOPS, and she enjoyed volunteering at the Winona Humane Society.  Marie will be remembered for her love of cooking, gardening, boating, traveling, reading a good book, and spending time with her family.

Marie’s family was the foundation of her life, and she was proud of the fact that she was able to raise, support, and help her children while growing up, even while owning and operating a business.  She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

Marie is lovingly survived by her husband, Francis; children: Jim (Barb); Susie; the late Michele (Cheryl); Ann (Jack); Bob (June); Rich (Cyndi); Renee; and Teresa (Steve); 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother: Gerald (Audrey); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her daughter Michele, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eddie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 1, 2016, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona.  The Reverend Monsignor Richard M. Colletti will officiate.

Marie will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church on Monday, August 1, 2016, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.
