MARIANNE P. DULEK
Marianne P. Dulek, age 94, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 25, 1922, in Winona, to Roman and Helen (Poblocki) Slagowski, and was later adopted by her aunt and uncle, John and Helen (Maliszewski) Slagowski. She was united in marriage with Edmund E. Dulek on August 10, 1943, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona, and Ed preceded her in death on October 20, 2012.
Marianne was employed with Watkins, Margie’s Dairy Cottage, and Kwik Trip. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka where she was active with the quilters, funeral lunch committee, the prayer line, and she served as the co-chair of the Fall Festival for many years. She was also a member of Harvest House.
She will be remembered for her love of baking, especially her chocolate chippies, playing cards in the neighborhood card club, spending time at the neighbor’s cottage, and her annual trip to Las Vegas with Ed. Marianne was a loving mother, grandma, and great-grandma who will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Marianne is lovingly survived by her sons: Bob (Judy) Dulek, Winona; Bill (Debbie) Dulek, Winona; daughter: Mary Ellen (Pat) Sheehan, Winona; daughter-in-law: Mary Kay Dulek, Rochester, MN; grandchildren: David Dulek; Brian (Breanna) Dulek; Cheryl Galewski; Lewis (Misty) Dulek; Jackie (Karl) Beaver; Joe (Kc) Sheehan; Adam (Tabitha) Sheehan; great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Zachary Dulek; Cassandra Dulek; Isaac and Jacob Dulek; Haven, Tatum, and Lennon Dulek; Devon Olson; Linette and Carmen Sheehan; Joshua, Kaleb, and Christian Beaver; special friends and neighbors: Pat (late Jim) Watkowski, and their family: Kim, Jean, Karen, Jennifer, Jim, John, and Mike; friends, Betty Schneider and Dorothy Lilla; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, John; parents; and sister, Grace Slagowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 Noon on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Marianne will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, on Sunday, October 23, 2016, from 4 PM until 7 PM, where the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, on Monday, October 24, 2016, from 11 AM until 11:45 AM.
Pallbearers will be: Nicholas Dulek, Zachary Dulek, Karl Beaver, John Watkowski, Mike Watkowski, and Dick Wanek.
