Margaret Hanson

Margaret A. Hanson, age 86, of Winona, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Gundersen Health System Hospital in La Crosse.

She was born on June 30, 1931, in rural Independence, Wisconsin, to George and Verna (Waletski) Skriepietz.  She was employed as a bookkeeper and accountant for various places including Camera Art, Kujak Trucking, Bunke’s Apco, and Winona County.  She was a member of Central Lutheran Church.

Margaret will be remembered for her enjoyment of going to flea markets and garage sales, and she especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, Beverly (Terry) Vogt, Battle Creek, MI, and Don Hanson, Spring Grove, MN; grandchildren: Brian, Andrea, Jason (Megan), Justin (Sarah), Jeffrey (Lisa), Serena and Jordan; 5 great-grandchildren; sister: Bernice Stellar, Independence, WI; sisters-in-law: Grace Cooper and Clarice Edenfield, both of Washington State; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2013, her son, Doyle, in 2011, and a brother, Clarence Skriepietz.

Margaret’s family would like to thank Sarah Haines, the Elder Network in Winona, and a special thanks to Jane and Hannah, for the help and support which they gave to Margaret.

In honor of Margaret’s wishes, there will not be any funeral services held.
