Lyle Hofer

Lyle M. Hofer, age 95, of Cochrane, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in the comfort of his home on the family farm.

Lyle was born on the farm in Belvidere Township, on March 6, 1923, to Edwin and Emma (Koenig) Hofer, and was a graduate of the Cochrane High School.  He married Jeanne Herold on August 18, 1948, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cochrane, and was a life-long farmer.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Jeanne, Cochrane, WI; children: Brende (Dennis Steadman) Hofer, Madison, WI; Suzanne (David) Bardouche, Minneapolis, MN; Jeff (Jane) Hofer, Cochrane, WI; Paul Hofer, Cochrane, WI; Greg (Denise) Hofer, Cochrane, WI; and Eric Hofer, Cochrane, WI; grandchildren: Amanda (Peter), Melissa, Emily, Michael, and Lance (Carley) Hofer.  He was preceded in death by a son, Steven.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the funeral service at 1 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cochrane.  The Reverend Mark Wilde will officiate.  Burial will be in the Buffalo City Public Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Hofer, Paul Hofer, Greg Hofer, Eric Hofer, Michael Hofer, Lance Hofer, and Peter Hofer.  The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Amanda Hofer, Melissa Hofer, and Emily Hofer.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of choice.
