LOUIS DEHAVEN PACE, SR.

Louis DeHaven Pace, Sr., age 72, of Winona, MN, and formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully  in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, September 29, 2016.

Louis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his delightful sense of humor, his integrity, his artistic ability, and his love of nature.  He was employed by Neyenesch Printers of San Diego from 1970 until his retirement to Minnesota in 2006.  He was the treasurer of the San Diego Chess Club for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Nat and Barbara Pace, Sr.; brother, Nat Pace, Jr.; his wife’s parents: Conrad and Winnifred Block; brothers-in-law: Dan and Steve Finch; and his three infant sons: Michael, James, and Gaylon.

Louis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue; daughter, Danielle; two sons: Adam; and Louis, Jr. (Elisa); four grandsons: Louis, III; Christian; Jacob; and Elliott; two brothers: David (Raema) and Guy; one sister: Betty (Christian) Reicher; and many other relatives and friends.

As per his request, a private family funeral and burial is being planned.
