LEROY (BUTCH) BECK

LeRoy (Butch) Beck, age 71, of Winona, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

LeRoy was born July 3, 1946 in Winona. He was one of the 18 children born to Florian and Verna Beck.

LeRoy faced many physical challenges in his life, but they did not stop him from enjoying his life. In his earlier years Butch could be seen walking all over the town, greeting people and making friends along his way. In the past decade he found a lot of enjoyment in the use of his power chair. It was his form of transportation and he put many miles on it.

Butch had many many friends in his life. He was a very special man and will be missed by his family as well as his friends.

LeRoy is survived by his siblings, Jerome, MaryAnn Ehlenfeldt, Betty (Tom) Slaby, Judy Neitzel, Shirley, Sandie, Carole, Robert (Judy), Kathy (Gary) McCoy, Steve (Sallee), Garry (Sandy), Terry, Tim (Amalia), David (Brian), Dan (Noel) and a sister-in-law, Marsha Beck. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard, and an infant brother LaVerne.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM, with a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 PM, on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be held from 12:30 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Butch’s nephews.
