LaVonne "Bonnie" M. Wooten

LaVonne “Bonnie” Wooten peacefully winged her way to heaven in the early morning hours of March 25, 2024. She had been under the loving care of her daughter Sheryl in her home in Frazee, Minnesota. 

Bonnie was born in Winona, on January 27, 1934, to Eugene Feuling and Evelyn (Harders) Fueling, and attended Winona Senior High School. She married the love of her life, Patrick Cieminski, and to this union, three children were born:  Sheryl (Lyle) Mahnke, Patrick, Jr., and Terri Zarling. 

Patrick Sr. preceded her in death, as the result of a car accident. She is survived by her children; foster daughter, Judy Batzel; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and special friends: Bernie Wooden and JoAn and Harold Moham. 

Bonnie loved and cared for many foster children including special daughter, Judy Batzel. Her generosity to her family will always be remembered and cherished. 

In 1982, Bonnie married Lt. Colonel James Wooten. The two enjoyed dancing, traveling in their motor home, and wintering in Arizona. 

Throughout her life, Bonnie was a wonderful cook and baker and worked in food service in schools and rest homes. She delighted in sharing her amazing baking skills with her many friends, including the Homer Church parishioners and the Sugar Loaf Ford employees.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands; sister, Beverly; and her parents. 

At Bonnie’s request, all attendees at her service are asked to dance in celebration of her life.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. Pastor Tori Hicks will officiate.

Bonnie will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
