LaVon Sandra Paetzel, 71, of Winona and formerly of Arcadia passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at her home.

LaVon was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Arcadia to Norman B. and Beatrice (Wivelstad) Dascher. She attended Arcadia High School. On Dec. 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to Ronald Vernon Berg. They had two children, a daughter, Lenette, and a son, Scott. The later divorced. On Feb. 14, 1986, LaVon was united in marriage to Ronald Harlin Paetzel and had two stepsons, Brian and Mark.

LaVon was last employed as an office secretary at Winona Industries, until retiring. She loved her books, has ordered and read hundreds of hard-covered books, enjoyed working the crossword puzzle books and always looked forward to watching her nightly British TV shows.

LaVon faced many hardships in her life and fought them all; she never quit and always tried to maintain a positive attitude.

LaVon is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Ron; daughter, Lenette (Scott) Olson, Fairchild, Wis.; son, Scott Berg, Arcadia; two stepsons, Brian and Mark Paetzel, Winona; two sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Sobieck, Arcadia, Colleen (Linus) Kujak, Onalaska, Wis.; two brothers, Bob Dascher, Danbury, Wis., John (Sherry) Dascher, Strum, Wis.; three grandchildren, Brooke (Jon) Dingler, Osseo, Wis., Madison Berg, Eau Claire, Wis., Tyler Olson, Fairchild; six stepgrandchildren, Alex, Destiny, Keegan, Courtney, Jaden and Shyla; numerous nieces and nephews.

LaVon was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Beatrice Dascher; brother, Dallas; both maternal and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Dascher, Olaf and Anna Wivelstad.

LaVon’s wish was to be cremated and have no funeral services. A private family graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
