Kathryn Stanek

Kathryn A. Stanek, age 84, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Sauer Health Care, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Fischer Hill in Whitewater Township, on June 5, 1934, to Harold and Margaret (Burbach) Heaser.  Kathryn was united in marriage with Albert Stanek on July 14, 1956, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2011.

She was employed with Boelter Industries in Winona, and she loved selling AVON for many years.

Kathryn had a deep and abiding faith in God, and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.  She also had an interest in holistic medicine, music, dancing, and she had a great appreciation for the simpler things in life.  Her family meant the world to her, and she especially cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

Kathryn is lovingly survived by her children, Susie (Tony) Katula, Buffalo City, WI, Marie (Tom) Grossell, Fountain City, WI, and Gary (Lori) Stanek, Goodview, MN; grandchildren, Crystal Katula, Jeremy Katula, Travis (Jenni) Grossell and Alicia (Kris) Ames; great-grandchildren, Hailey Felten, Dustin and Levi Grossell, and Addison Ames; sisters: Rosie Lewinski and Liz Thompson; sister-in-law: Sharon Heaser; brothers-in-law: Henry Evans and Gene (Jane) Stanek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, John Heaser.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the funeral service at 1 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  Kathryn will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Oak Ridge.  Following the burial, a luncheon and reception will be held at the Winona Elks Club.

Pallbearers will be Kathryn’s grandchildren and their spouses.
