JULIANA "JULIE" MCRAE HEMMELMAN
Juliana “Julie” McRae Hemmelman, age 82, of Winona, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.
She was born on September 8, 1934, in Perham, MN, to Marianus and Wilhelmina “Minne” (Deleest) Loeffen. In 1952, she moved to Winona, where she met Calvin McRae, and they were married in November 1953. Calvin passed away in 1977. She later met Clarence Hemmelman, and they were married in 1985. Clarence passed away in 2007.
Julie was employed with the Winona Knitting Mills, Knitcraft, Fiberite, and lastly with Lake Center until her retirement.
She was a member of the Eagle’s Club, Blanche’s Left Handers Club, and the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
Julie will be remembered for her beautiful flower garden, and the meticulous way in which she kept her home and her yard. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Julie is lovingly survived by her children: Don (Gayle) McRae, Mike McRae, Paul (Elisabeth) McRae, and Deb (Bo) Petschow; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Prochowitz and Agie Hemmelgarn; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Joe “Noodles” McRae; parents; sisters: Ann Banicki and Ceil Orlikowski-Edel; and brothers: Albert and John Loeffen.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 3 PM until the time of a Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Julie will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
