JULAINE A. BURBACH
Julaine A. (Horn) Burbach, age 81, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the Gundersen Health System Hospital in La Crosse.
She was born on July 4, 1935, in Lewiston, MN, to Walter and Adella (Harder) Horn. Julaine graduated from the Lewiston High School in 1953. She was employed at United Telephone Company, Northwestern Bell, and AT&T, retiring in June 1988 with 36 years of service. She was a life-long member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
After retiring, Julaine was employed at K-Mart as a customer greeter and did volunteer work at Community Memorial Hospital.
Julaine was united in marriage with John P. Burbach on September 24, 1960, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona, and you would seldom see one without the other.
She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. Some of Julaine’s favorite things included: spending time with her family; vacations to Sanibel Island; walks along the ocean; sunrises on Mount Holiokol in Hawaii; music – especially Frank Sinatra; and lambs. Julaine found great enjoyment in decorating and throwing dinner parties.
Julaine is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, John; daughters: Julie Kohman and Mike; Joni Hohensee-Burbach; grandchildren: Steven Kohman; Sarah (Travis) Kohman; and Dylan and Nicholas Hohensee-Burbach; great-granddaughters: Lilly and Ashlynn Kohman; special niece, Barbara Jane Peterson; and her “little-bit daughter” Alex Wohlert; her four legged friend, Jay Jay; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Marjorie Luehmann; brother-in-law: Cletus Burbach; and mother-in-law and father-in-law: Cletus and Agnes Burbach.
For nothing loved is lost – and she was loved oh so much!
