Joyce E. Marg

Joyce E. Marg, 61, of Fountain City, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2023.  

She was the fifth of nine children born to Eugene and Mildred (Kallas) Marg and raised on the family farm.  She graduated from Winona Senior High School and went on to devote her career to various facets of the medical field.  She first earned her LPN degree and years later a degree in respiratory therapy.  She ventured to Florida in 1983, where she enjoyed working as a flight respiratory therapist for over 13 years, however her large family and friends brought her back to Winona in 1998.  Joyce ultimately returned to school again, this time for dental hygiene, and she was a valued employee of River Hills Dental for the past 23+ years. 

A social butterfly, Joyce made lasting friendships wherever she went, from the many childhood friends she maintained, to her Florida flight team crew, to other coworkers and friends she met along the way.  A cherished sister, she valued her family beyond measure and was always at the heart of large family gatherings. Joyce developed unique and special relationships with each of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  Her personality was bright, her smile infectious, and her laughter contagious. She will be dearly missed by many. 

She is survived by her siblings Jerome (Stacey) Marg, Carol (Tom) Sauerer, Stan (Shannon) Marg, Lenny (Nancy) Marg, Gary (Barb) Marg, Kevin Marg, Dennis (Teri) Marg, Sue (Pete) Rothering, and significant other Darcy Giese, along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, two children by previous marriage, and six treasured grandchildren.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.  

Visitation will be held from 3 PM until the time of a service of remembrance at 6 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona.  Pastor Sammy Gondola will officiate.  Following the service, a reception and celebration of Joyce’s life will continue at the American Legion Club, 302 E. Sarnia St., Winona. 

Joyce will be laid to rest in a family ceremony at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to a charity or organization of your choice.
