JOAN MORRISON

Joan Morrison, 87, of Pine Island, Minnesota died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Mayo Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born in Winona, Minnesota, on October 26, 1929, and was the daughter of Edgar and Margaret (Jahnke) Fifield. Joan worked at Watkins in Winona for 27 years.  Joan enjoyed gardening and bird watching at her home in Houston, Minnesota where she lived from 1975-2004.  She was a member of St. Martin’s and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Churches in Winona, MN.  She was a helpful and generous person who will be missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Morrison.

Joan is survived by her daughter and her partner, Debra Gormley and Brian McCollor, and by three grandchildren, Mara, Lauren, and Daniel of Plymouth, Minnesota. Additionally, she is survived by two siblings and four nieces and nephews: Carol Fifield of Anchorage, Alaska, and her children, John and Kirsten, and Debra Fifield of Alliance, Nebraska, and her wife and children, Angela, Jeff, and Kris.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by service on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home in Winona, Minnesota. The service will be followed by burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
