Jared F. Kuehl, age 47, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in the comfort of his home, with his wife by his side.
He was born on September 21, 1976, in Madelia, MN, to Keith and Mary Ann (Cobb) Kuehl. He attended elementary school in St. James, MN, graduated from Cotter High School in Winona, and attended classes at Winona State.
Jared was united in marriage with Stacie Salo on July 9, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona.
Jared was a hard worker, starting at a young age working for his grandfather, mowing lawn with his cousins and then with the family business Image‘N That. Throughout his career, Jared was employed with the Riverport, Fastenal, Herff-Jones/Life Touch, Robb’s Construction, and Boomer’s Plumbing.
He was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka; the Eagles Club; the Elks Club, where he served as a past trustee; and the local chapters of the NRA and the NWTF. He was a proud supporter of sportsmen’s organizations.
Jared had a great love of the outdoors and anything to do with nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, cooking, grilling, and entertaining. He always looked forward to the annual group hunting trip to the Black Hills over Thanksgiving, but what he enjoyed most about the trip was the camaraderie with his family and friends.
He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help others, and for how he cherished the time spent with his family, especially teasing and goofing around with his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Jared is lovingly survived by his wife, Stacie; parents, Keith and Mary Ann Kuehl; siblings: Krista (Wes) Hoeper and Jacob (Sara) Kuehl; maternal grandmother, Berneice Cobb; mother-in-law, Patricia Salo; brother-in-law, Michael Moore; nieces and nephews: Ethan, Holly, and Boyd (Jared’s Godson) Hoeper; Makenna (Jared’s Goddaughter) and Brooklyn Kuehl; and Abigail and Lillian Moore; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including a special cousin, Aaron Jacobson, who was like a brother to Jared.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Owen and Margaret Kuehl; maternal grandfather, Casper Cobb; uncle, Joseph Dahl; godfather, Roger Culhane; father-in-law, Lowell Salo; and his sister-in-law, Emily Moore.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 4 PM until 7 PM, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 PM, followed by a time to share memories. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. The Very Reverend Patrick Arens will officiate. Following the Mass, a luncheon and reception will be held at the Elks Club in Goodview.
The honorary pallbearer will be Aaron Jacobson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to support youth programs of the Winona Elks. You may also donate directly to an outdoor youth league of your choice in Jared’s name.
