JANICE F. ALBRECHT

Janice F. Albrecht, age 85, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

She was born on November 16, 1931, in La Crosse, WI, to Joseph and Winnifred (Crowley) Mitterreiter.  She was united in marriage with Fredrick Albrecht on May 9, 1953, in La Crosse, and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1999.

Janice was employed for many years with Watlow in Winona, prior to her retirement.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick, and was active with its Ladies Aid and afternoon Bible study.

She will be remembered for her love of reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling with Fred, and for her enjoyment of her flower garden.  While she was a resident at Winona Arms, Janice looked forward to sitting outside on the front porch to enjoy her friends and the sunshine.

Janice is lovingly survived by her children: Tony Albrecht; Wayne (Pat) Albrecht; Carol (Greg) Schewe; Rose (Carl) Strelow; and Kristine Albrecht; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Lois (Don) Juen; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister; a daughter-in-law: Marcia Albrecht; and a son-in-law: Dick Bellman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick.  The Reverend James Nelson will officiate.

Janice will be laid to rest in the Pickwick Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 5 PM until 7 PM, and at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Janice’s grandsons: Adam Strelow, Neil Albrecht, Daniel Strelow, Andrew Albrecht, Geoff Schewe, Jacob Bellman, and Joshua Albrecht.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Janice’s granddaughters: Tanya Koch, Amanda Schewe, and Tia Albrecht.

It is respectfully requested that memorials be considered to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickwick, or to Winona Hospice Services.

“Remember me with a smile, for that is how I’ll remember you all.  If you can’t remember me with a smile, then don’t remember me at all.”
