Ilene Ogburn

Ilene Thelone Haugen Ogburn has passed on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at her home.

She was born May 12, 1926, to Thomas and Inga Haugen. She was raised in Rushford, MN, and they moved to Winona in 1941.

She married her husband, Donald Ogburn and raised her step-son, "Jim".  Ilene worked for many years in the alterations department at Choates department store and was one of the "Choate girls".  She was a long-time member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, step-son, daughter-in-law Lee; her sisters: Helma Frahm, Marian Ronnenberg and Beverly Fenton, and her brothers: Clarence and Leland Haugen.

She is survived by her step-grandson Jerry, his wife and grandchildren.  She was loved and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and their children.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.

A light from our family is gone
A voice we lived is stilled
A place is vacant in the home
Which never can be filled

We have to mourn the loss of one
We would've loved to keep
But God who surely loved her best
Has finally made her sleep

After a life time of her love and joy
And her voice to fill our ears
God leaves these wonderful memories
To help us through our tears
