Herman Hoesley, Sr.

Herman G. Hoesley, Sr., age 98, of Dodge, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall, WI, following a brief hospitalization.

He was born on April 20, 1922, in Dodge, WI, to Frank and Frances (Hermann) Hoesley.  He was united in marriage with Lorraine V. Jereczek on August 9, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI, and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1999.

During his younger years, Herman was an avid baseball player for the Dodge baseball team.  He was a life-long farmer on the farm which has been in his family for over 100 years.  He enjoyed driving his tractors and playing cards – especially Euchre – with his friends on Tuesday evenings.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI.

Herman is survived by his son, Herman, Jr. (Cheryl) of Roberts, WI; twin daughters: Laurie Church of West St. Paul, MN; and Lynn (Alan) Kupietz of Fountain City, WI; grandchildren: Samantha Church, Christopher Church, and Gracie Kupietz; great-grandchildren: Ben Hoesley, Drake Hoesley, Drew Henson-Hoesley, and Dylan Henson; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; grandson, Cory Hoesley; parents; a sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI.  The Reverend Sebastian Kolodziejczyk will officiate.  Herman will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Joseph Hoesley, Christopher Church, John Kupietz, Joe Kupietz, Rob Sturgis, and Todd Neitzel.

Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek.
