HARRIET E. MASYGA

Harriet E. Masyga, age 92, of Winona, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015, at Brookdale Senior Living in Winona.

Harriet was born on May 12, 1923, in Winona, to Isaac and Emma (Busch) Davies.  She was united in marriage with Leo F. Masyga on June 10, 1950, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona.  Leo preceded her in death on April 8, 1988.

She was employed for many years in housekeeping at St. Teresa’s College in Winona.  Harriet was a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona where she was active with the quilters, the funeral lunch committee, and she always looked forward to helping with the annual fall bazaar.

Harriet enjoyed spending time at the Winona Senior Friendship Center, and especially going on their outings and trips.  She will be remembered for her love of football, trips to the casino, mystery and detective shows on TV, and watching everything that was going on in her neighborhood.

Harriet is survived by her children: Alan Masyga; James (Shari) Masyga; and Ann (Michael) O’Hara; grandchildren: Christopher, Heather (David), Michael, Amanda, and Luke; great-grandson: Emmett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; infant children, Patricia and Thomas; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona.  The Reverend Robert P. Stamschror will officiate.

Harriet will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in a private family ceremony.

Visitation will be held at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 27, 2015, from 11 AM until the time of the Mass.

It is suggested that memorials may be directed to St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, Lake Winona Manor, or Brookdale Senior Living.
