Gordon J. Polus

Gordon J. Polus, age 86, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in the home where he had lived for the last 63 years.

He was born on May 26, 1938, in Winona, to Carl and Hilda (Fratzke) Polus, and was the youngest of six siblings and an adopted brother.

On July 2, 1960, he married Dallas Johnson at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona. Together they had five children: Crystal (Brian) Krings, Dawn (Keith) Krings, Bradley Polus, Pamela Polus, and Hugh (Mary Galewski) Polus; nine grandchildren: Adam, Marcus, Mandy, Drew, Krista, Kelsey, Alex, Sarah, and Ben; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Dallas; their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Weilandt.

Visitation will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 1:30 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 PM. The Very Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate. Gordon will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
