Gladys I. Schossow, age 92, of rural Rushford, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the comfort of her home on the family farm.

She was born on January 27, 1931, in Winona, to Elsie Haedtke, and was united in marriage with Wilfred C. Schossow on June 7, 1952, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson.

Gladys was a dedicated farmwife who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. Her rolled sugar cookies being a family favorite.  Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she especially cherished the times she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will affectionately be remembered for the generous help and support she gladly provided them.

Gladys was a member of the Lewiston Church of the Brethren. She lived by the example of her steadfast Christian faith.

Gladys is lovingly survived by her husband of 71 years, Wilfred; children: Deb (Mike) Best, Lori Evanson, and Kenneth Schossow; grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Linse, Tyler Best, Jacob Best, Betsy (Michael) Nagel, Joseph (Courtney) Evanson, Kipp Schossow, and Megan Schossow; great-grandchildren: Kirin and Keaton Linse, Olivia and Adelynn Nagel, and Charlotte Evanson; as well as other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, and a son-in-law: Donald Gronewold.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the funeral service at 1 PM on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona.  Jamie Risser and Gordon Hoffert will officiate.  Gladys will be laid to rest at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks memorials be directed to the Lewiston Church of the Brethren.
