Gerald L. Zeller, Sr., age 77, of Pickwick, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on December 11, 1940, in Arcadia, Wisconsin, to Orvin and Frances (Nogosek) Zeller, and was united in marriage with Susan Serva on March 9, 1966, in Winona.
He was employed with Archer Daniels, and also as a crane operator with Miller Scrap.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of watching Westerns on TV, Johnny Cash, going for rides, and for his love of animals, especially the many dogs he had as companions over the years. Jerry’s greatest joy in life was his family, and he always looked forward to family gatherings and Sunday dinners.
Jerry is lovingly survived by his wife, Sue; children: Gerald (Onalee) Zeller, Jr.; Randy (Sheri) Zeller; Shawn (Gregory) Zeller; Kari (Anthony) Jereczek; and Kelly (Scott) Stalboerger; son-in-law: Lee Harlos; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Swanson and Susan (Dennis) Spaete; a special cousin, who was like a brother, David Nogosek; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: Norman Helstad; daughter: Michelle Harlos; and a granddaughter: Morgan Zeller.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be held from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Father Brian Mulligan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Darin Decker, Lee Harlos, David Nogosek, Tyler Ziegler, Dustin Zeller, and Scott Stalboerger. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dallas Zeller, Anthony Jereczek, Gregory Johnson, Steven Nogosek, Kyle Harlos, and Jordan Stalboerger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shawn and Dallas for the care that they gave to Jerry which allowed him to stay at home; and also to Dr. Thomas Retzinger for his friendship and many years of excellent medical care.
