FRANCIS C. JACQUES

Francis C. Jacques, age 88, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at his home.

He was born on August 10, 1928, in Rumford, ME, to Joseph and Cecile (Loucks) Jacques, and was a graduate of the Mexico High School in Mexico, ME.  Francis married Marie Cloutier on June 3, 1950, in Mexico, ME; and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2016.

Francis honorably served his country with the United States Army Air Forces during World War II in Guam.  Francis and Marie owned and operated Jacques TV Service in Winona for many years.

He was a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona, the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW.  Francis will be remembered for his love of woodworking, gardening, boating on the Mississippi River, and reading.

Francis is lovingly survived by his children: Jim (Barb); Susie; the late Michele (Cheryl); Ann (Jack); Bob (June); Rich (Cyndi); Renee (Mark); and Teresa (Steve); 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; daughter Michele; and a brother, Joe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 6, 2017, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona.  The Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate.

Francis will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.

Visitation will be held at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church on Monday, March 6, 2017, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.
