FLORENCE S. THOMPSON

Florence S. Thompson, age 88, of Fountain City, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Marinuka Manor in Galesville, WI.

She was born on February 4, 1928, in Winona, to Harry and Sally (Czaplewski) Krzoska.  She was united in marriage with Carl Thompson on August 24, 1945, in Rushford, MN, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1987.

Florence was employed as a beautician in the Winona area for over 40 years.  She was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona, and was also a member of the Eagle’s Club and a past member of its Auxiliary.

She will be remembered for her love of family, entertaining, baking, (especially her famous chocolate cake), traveling, and trips to the casino.  She especially enjoyed traveling to car shows with her special friend, Frank Kiedrowski, to show his 1919 Oldsmobile truck.

Florence is lovingly survived by her son: Michael (Dianne) Thompson and their children: Jennifer Thompson, and her children: Emerald and Ean; Jessa (Andrew) Posselt, and their children: Elliott, Cedar, and Martin; and Jerhad (Mary) Thompson, and their children: Emmet, Dean, and Spencer; her daughter: Carolyn Drazkowski, and her children: Michael (Kristine) Drazkowski, and their daughter Emma Ann; and Deidre (Phil) Overton, and their children: Jayce, Colton, and Kaydee; sisters: Mary Olson (Tate) and Fran Spencer (Charlie); brother: Frank (Marlene) Krzoska; special friend, Hal Allen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law: Lee Drazkowski; brother: Julian Krzoska; and special friend, Frank Kiedrowski.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.   The Reverend Richard A. Moore of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate.

Florence will be laid to rest in the Fountain City Public Cemetery, Fountain City, WI.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, 2016, from 5 PM until 7 PM, and again on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Drazkowski, Jerhad Thompson, Philip Overton, Andrew Posselt, Tony Krzoska, Daniel Krzoska, Phillip Olson, and honorary pallbearer, James Krzoska.

Florence’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Marinuka Manor for the excellent and loving care that she received.
