Fay Goergen

Fay F. Goergen, age 92, of Winona, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, at her home.

Fay was born on October 4, 1926, in Milwaukee, WI, to Matthew and Frances (Zywicki) McCormick.  After graduating from Cathedral High School, she attended the College of St. Teresa and the College of St. Catherine.   In 1948, she was united in marriage with Arthur Goergen in Winona, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1990.

She will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother, who had a great love of animals, especially dogs.  Fay was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, and she had a deep devotion to her faith.

Fay is lovingly survived by her children: Gail, Matthew, Timothy, Tony, and Brian; her beagle puppy, Tommy; as well as other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, and several beloved dogs.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM on Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, where the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.  The Very Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate.  There will not be any visitation held on Tuesday, please meet at the Cathedral for Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
