ELIZABETH J. "SUSIE" JASZEWSKI
Elizabeth J. “Susie” Jaszewski, age 91, of Winona, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.
She was born on June 25, 1924, in Galesville, WI, to John and Margaret (Rotering) Schlesser. Susie was united in marriage with John “Janek” Jaszewski on October 8, 1949, at the St. Thomas Pro Cathedral in Winona. John preceded her in death on April 14, 2002.
Susie was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, the Auxiliaries of the American Legion and the VFW, and was also a member of Harvest House. She will be remembered as an excellent homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. Susie loved to socialize, and as a gracious hostess, her home was always open to her family and friends.
Susie is survived by a sister, Alethea Waldera, Pigeon Falls, WI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Richard Dernek will officiate.
Susie will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2016, from 4 PM until 6 PM, where Harvest House will lead a prayer service at 4 PM. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 9 AM until 9:45 AM.
Pallbearers will be: James Stanislawski, Doris Daggett, Judy Finch, Marvin Schlesser, Ron Jaszewski, and Mark Glenzinski.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the St. Stanislaus Grade School, or the American Heart Association.
