Elizabeth "Bette" A. Williamson

Elizabeth A. “Bette” Williamson, age 97, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Benedictine – St. Anne in Winona.

She was born on April 26, 1927, in La Crosse, WI, to Alfred and Ruth (Keenan) Sullivan, and was a 1945 graduate of Aquinas High School in La Crosse.

Bette was united in marriage with Robert “Bob” Williamson on November 26, 1949, at St. James Catholic Church in La Crosse, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2011.

She was employed as a dental assistant for thirty years with Dr. J.A. Alampi.

As a young mother, Better was active as a den mother for Cub Scouts and a Brownie leader in Girl Scouts. She was very generous in her love for family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them.

As grandparents, she and Bob attended various sporting events in which their grandchildren participated including baseball, basketball, soccer games, and was a “hockey Gramma!” Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she treasured the time that she spent with them.

Bette will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed baking for her family, especially chocolate chip cookies.

Bette and Bob shared a loving relationship. She will be remembered for her generous and caring ways – her hugs, sunny smile, and warm heart. Bette will be dearly missed, and her love will be remembered and reflected in the relationship she had with her children and grandchildren.

Bette is survived by her much-loved children: Steven Williamson, Michelle (Mike) Vogel, and Dave (Colleen) Williamson; grandchildren: Ryan (Natacia) Spahr, Kevin (Elizabeth) Spahr, Shannon (Shawn) Thrune, Kristin Spahr, Matt (Betsy) Williamson, Tyler Williamson, Ne’cole Schueler.

Bette was also blessed with 9 great grandchildren: Ava, Sean, Millie, Lettie, Riley, Alba, Teegan, MacKenzie, and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her partner and soulmate, Bob; sister: Mary Grace Kane; brother-in-law, William; brother, John Sullivan; sister-in-law, Eleanore; and many special friends.

Bette also cherished her friendship with Don and Gloria Ergle, Shirley Yackel, and Kathy Vopelak.
