ELEANOR A. "ELLE" TERRY

Eleanor A. “Elle” (Konkel) Terry, age 93, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

She was born on March 21, 1924, on a farm in Plattes Valley, rural Fountain City, WI, to Peter and Rose (Pelowski) Konkel.  Elle met Carrol Terry in Milwaukee, and they were married on September 8, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI.

Elle was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church, the Catholic Daughters, the Eagles Club, and the Red Men’s Club.

She will be remembered for her green thumb and love of flower gardening, and her special knack for growing roses.  As an excellent cook and baker, many looked forward to enjoying her potato salad and coconut cream pies.  Elle was a loving wife and mother, and she especially adored her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Elle is lovingly survived by her husband, Carrol; son, Michael (Heather) Terry; granddaughters: Haley, Jaida, and Sadie; a great-granddaughter, Maddison; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters: Hubert, Clarence, Jerome, George, and LaVern Konkel; Harriet Horstmann, Marion Konkel, Patricia Kramer, Phyllis Schabacker, and Rose Marie Abts.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Church, 560 East Broadway, Winona.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.  Elle will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Pine Creek, WI, at a later date.

It is respectfully requested that memorials be directed to Winona Health or to St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

Elle’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Nicholas Modjeski, and the staffs of St. Anne Extended Healthcare and Winona Hospice, for the excellent and loving care that she received.
