ELAINE R. MEIER

Elaine R. Meier, age 90, of Winona, MN, and formerly of Hastings, MN, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.

She was born on August 30, 1926, in Winona, to Edward and Pauline (Hegerle) Joswick, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School.

Elaine was united in marriage with Willard Meier; he preceded her in death on September 24, 2001.

Following their marriage, Elaine and Willard settled in St. Paul, MN, and after Willard’s retirement, they moved to Hastings, MN.  She will be remembered for her love of sports, especially watching the Minnesota Twins, doing needlework, and solving word and jigsaw puzzles.

She was a former member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings.

Elaine is survived by her son, Willard, Jr., 3 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.

Private family funeral services were held with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
