EDWARD C. STIEVER
Edward C. Stiever, age 95, of Wilson, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Sauer Healthcare.
He was born on June 5, 1921, in Mora, MN, to John and Elizabeth (Phillips) Stiever. He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Frye on November 11, 1950, in Winona County. Ed honorably served his country with the United States Army during World War II.
Ed’s heart and soul was being a farmer, and he also sold new and used farm implements and machinery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed playing Schafskopf at the Witoka Tavern.
Ed is lovingly survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children: Wayne Stiever, Witoka, MN; James Stiever, Twin Bluffs, MN; Alice Nelson, Stockton, MN; Kurt Stiever, Rochester, MN; Sally Stiever, Fountain City, WI; Barb (Tom) Meier, Winona; Kenny Stiever, Money Creek, MN; as well as numerous and wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy; infant sons, Charles and Mark; great-granddaughter, Katie Hornberg; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph (Lila) Stiever; Raymond (Rose) Stiever; and Gene (Mary) Stiever.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. Deacon Justin Green will officiate.
Ed will be laid to rest in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Wilson, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Sunday, July 3, 2016, from 12 Noon until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be Ed’s grandsons and great-grandsons: C.J. Stiever, Brad Stiever, Jason Stiever, James Meier, Jordan Meier, and Justin Doerr.
